Dear Adam,
Happy Birthday!
It bewilders me to think it has been over a year since you, little Adam, came into our life!
Each day you live is truly a tangible picture of His sovereign grace, His perfect plan, and His desire to take the foolish things of this world to shame the wise. We were told you would not live past 4 weeks...you have far surpassed that and doctors who really got to know you say that there is nothing that will shorten your life. Praise Him for sustaining you. I know this has been a hard year in many ways...but little bird, you are so strong. And He is so at work in You. I know it is hard to comprehend at your age the depths of His grace (shoot, it is hard at my age too). But know that He is faithful and He is at work. Each day we see you conquer a new obstacle, your dad and I are amazed and want to tell the world. He is at work all around you making beauty from ashes. I cannot wait to see all He continues to do in our family and we are so very grateful you are a part of us.
We love you, Little Bird.

“For He who began a good work in you is faithful to bring it
to completion”
Those are the words of our brother, Paul, and they are words
I have clung to ever since I lived with those 32 at Asha Mission with 2 dear
friends of mine.
When we thought the Truth wasn’t seeping into those little
hearts and they just did not understand…
when we were tired and felt defeated and thought the Indian sun
may smite us…
when I longed to be able to care for those children every
day of their lives…
when I couldn’t hold onto faith that He would continue to
uphold them in ten years, fifteen years, and so on…
when it was hard to love them as a mother, knowing they weren’t
mine…
we clung to Him and to these words.
And they always prove true.
Because HE always proves true.
He began good works in those children and He is going to be
faithful to finish it.
When we first heard saw Adam, our hearts throbbed with pain,
confusion, questions, but most of all, He infused them with mighty love.
When we discussed options for Adam, all that came to mind
was our Time Keller study on Romans…and the amazing adoption we have
experienced thru the spilled blood of the son of a King.
When we decided to adopt Adam, we clung to those very words
“He who began a good work in you is faithful to bring it to
completion”
And we had to keep clinging.

When people said adoption was impossible…
When doctors gave hopeless diagnoses of death…
He who began, is
faithful.
When we found a possibility in the US , but the ability to get there
was said to be impossible…
He who began, is
faithful.
When we arrived but found out $100,000 was needed…
He who began, is
faithful.
When we heard words like “blindness” and “too difficult”…
Dear ones,
He who begins good works, is faithful. HE WILL COMPLETE IT.
Now, yes, His definition of completion and good is outside
of our comprehension.
We at times may not see what we long for.
And there have been moments like that for us.
But His infinite goodness does not waver according to our finite
understanding.
I did think see it as good to raise so much money…but thru
it, our faith increased so very much.
I did not see it as good to redo so many eye surgeries…I wanted
it finished in one…thru it, Adam was cared for and received the best care he
could get…and our faith was increased.

| thankful our boy has eyes to see after all he went thru... |
He is good.
And He who begins good works, is faithful…outside our
understanding…to complete them...
As He sees them.
And in a way that brings His name glory.
Not our names.
“Now to Him who is able to do infinitely more than we could
EVER ask or imagine…to Him be all glory, honor, and praise”
More words of Paul.
And dear ones, the videos and photos below speak enough...
Please be sure to note his sitting up;) his dimples when he laughs and his playing peekaboo with his bib;)
